Looking down on a city drenched in rain. The clouds move with the wind. Nestled in between mountains that rise from the ground like sentinels guarding borders. The vision is endless as far as the eye can see.

We move around in metal contortions. Cars, Buses, Motorcycles zipping along the roads. What's striking is the ego. We all are kings of our kingdom. The whole universe exists solely for our purpose. Every thought and action is to fulfill what we want, how we want. We are our most important people. Our wishes and desires are for us.

But, in the larger scheme of things we are just one in a billion such Kings. In the world, our presence is insignificant. In the Universe, our Earth is insignificant.

Sometimes, lets look from top of the universe. Zoom in to our galaxy, our planet, our country, our city, and then yourself. We are Puny. But, we act mighty.

Pooof...

...the disappearing act a few loyal readers are wondering about. Shantanu left a comment as well berating me for not having visited his blog recently and I thought the reply deserved a post in itself since there was a larger issue to address.

A year or so ago, I indulged in life so much, I started worrying about what I was taking back from those indulgences, most of the times it was indulgence for it's own sake. That's how this blog came about so that I could put in for posterity something about those experiences. I didn't really intend any readership, nor did I encourage one (at least not actively).

So why did I stop posting? Firstly, I have become a lot more involved in work at work, and that leaves me no time for personal pursuits while I am at work :-). Secondly, I have started indulging in life even more such that I don't have any personal time left to report them. Nor for my erstwhile daily online activities like mailing, social networking, reading blogs, etc. I am going out more, eating more, watching more, living more and time seems short for even that. I hope I can find a middle path but for the moment chances look bleak.

In conclusion, I am not going to stop posting, but I wouldn't depend on it's regularity.

Chicken or the egg

Is darkness the absence of light or light the absence of darkness? I think, since the universe is natively dark, light would be the absence of darkness , think.

In the same vein, an excerpt from "Certainty of Uncertainty" an essay from "Mind Matters" by Jug Suraiya:

"Reality is what we take to be true. What we take to be true is what we believe. What we believe is based on our percepts. What we perceive determines what we believe. What we believe determines what we take to be true. What we take to be true is our reality" What came first?

Oooh...Aaah...Ouch

I am down and out with a bad Clavicle (Collar) bone fracture, owing to a bike accident. The bone has broken into three parts and have been named thus; Oooh...Aaah...Ouch. Nevertheless, should be back to speed as soon as I have the use of both my hands. In the meantime chew on this. Dog!

mumbai...it smells like home

I am in mumbai and there is no other place I would want to be. I m lovin it...

Why?

Why can't I stick to one thing to do justice to it? Why am I interested in so many things. Mediocrity. Jack of all trades, master of none. Sigh. How I wish I could excel in something. Oh wait a minute I excel in not excelling in anything!

I have been thinking of doing this for quite some time now, until I finally got round to...doing it. I am not advertising it, I am not promoting it. I don't know how you got here. I Hope you survive.
